2016 was a crazy year and although there were some points that weren’t the best, it was filled with amazing experiences and events. Here are my top 10 (in no real order)
Miss Staten Island 2017: One Week In
It is still surreal to look back at one week ago and remember that yes, I was actually crowned Miss Staten Island 2017. I first got involved in the Miss America Organization in 2013, where I competed for the title of Miss Staten Island 2014. And by competed, I mean I kind of just did it for the experience. I had no chance of winning and I kind of knew that and was okay with that. I just wanted to say I did it. I wasn’t even necessarily planning on doing more than one pageant.
Too bad the pageant bug bit and I was hooked. Continue reading
The Ripple Effect of Anger
Two days in a row? Don’t expect this to happen often but something has come up that reminded me of how anger has a ripple effect. Continue reading
Life is Cruel. The World is Mean. Let’s Stop the Excuses and Get Over It
I know, I know… harsh title for my first blog back in a while. But a few weeks worth of occurrences sparked an idea in my head and I just had to write about it. Continue reading
Body Positivity (What’s on My Mind Wednesday)
Happy Wednesday! Congrats! You have officially made it to the middle of another week. And that means, it is time to talk about what has been on my mind lately. I missed this segment last week (even though an almost finished post is sitting in the drafts section of my account). I would have used my idea from last week, but a few things I have seen this week have inspired me to talk about a different topic: Body Positivity. Continue reading
April Favorites 2016 and An Introduction to Mental Health Awareness Month 2016
I feel like it has been forever since I have done a monthly favorites post. Well it is the end of April (okay, so its May 2nd, but close enough!) and I thought I would talk about what products I have been loving recently. Also, May is Mental Health Awareness Month (and obviously that is a favorite to me so it fits) so also in this post I am going to make some opening comments and talk about what I plan to do this month. Continue reading
As Technology Increases, Respect Decreases (What’s on My Mind Wednesday)
Welcome back to another edition of “What’s on My Mind Wednesday”. Today’s topic is the correlation between technology and respect. I am sure the first thing that a lot of people are thinking is: “What does technology have to do with respect?”.
In today’s society, the answer to that question is ‘just about everything’.
Early Warning: This is long but I think it is a good read
What’s On My Mind Wednesday: Donald Trump
This presidential election has been… interesting… to say the least. The front runner of the Republican party is none other than business mogul and reality television star Donald Trump. And in all honesty, that scares me. Why? Keep on reading.
Warning: This post will probably be all over the place and will probably be long. It will be worth it though, so be sure to read it and share it!
Recap! My Life Since I Have Disappeared
I can’t believe I have been so inactive on my blog! Life has been a whirlwind since the beginning of the year and I haven’t really posted anything since February. I guess the best thing to do is to kind of do a little recap post and update you on what has been going on and what I plan on doing over the course of the next few months. Continue reading
Beating the “Winter Blues”
It’s February and in many places, that means it’s winter. Winter, for many, is a very dark and dreary time. There is a lack of sunlight and the weather is usually a deterrent for leaving the house. This can lead to something called Seasonal Affective Disorder, which is more commonly known as the “winter blues”. Even if you don’t have Seasonal Affective Disorder, it is possibly that you may feel a little more “down in the dumps” during this time. Well, I am here to tell you that you are not alone and that I have some tricks to help get through the rough winter. Don’t worry, the groundhog said an early spring is in our future!
